About the AIMP and its Mission
The Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) was formed in 1977 by a group of Los Angeles music publishers and has local chapters in Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, and Atlanta. The AIMP is a proactive organization uniting independent publishers and songwriters. Our primary focus is the advancement of independent music publishers within the global music industry.
The AIMP provides education, outreach and the opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions with other songwriters and independent publishers on issues of mutual concern, while providing networking opportunities and information on issues pertaining to the global music business. The AIMP is on the forefront of current issues and is a vocal champion in support of music creators and indie rights holders.
The AIMP is an inclusive organization consisting of not only independent music publishers, but those publishers that are affiliated with record labels or motion picture and television production companies. In addition, individuals from other areas of the entertainment and music community, such as multimedia and home video producers, the record industry, music licensing and supervision, songwriters, artist managers, PROs and members of the legal and accounting professions are active in the AIMP.
