The Role

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Copyright Administrator to join our Montreal team. Reporting to the Director of Copyright Administration, you’ll play a vital role in managing our catalog, ensuring accurate registrations, and supporting royalty operations. This hybrid position requires 2 days per week in our Montreal office.

What You’ll Do

Registration & Data Management

• Enter and maintain song and agreement data in our internal database with precision
• Register songs using CWR and other industry-standard delivery formats
• Process and reconcile registration acknowledgment (ACK) files
• Submit work and agreement details to societies and partners worldwide

Problem-Solving & Quality Control

• Investigate and resolve registration conflicts, discrepancies, and territory-specific issues
• Maintain accurate song metadata, including lyrics, recordings, ISRCs, and writer/publisher splits
• Conduct internal database audits and assist with external society registration reviews

Cross-Functional Support

• Support the Royalty Department by researching works and mapping royalty data to registered songs
• Respond to catalog inquiries, confirm publishing splits, and provide label copy as needed
• Coordinate concert declarations and support the Legal Affairs team with contract annexes
• Monitor and manage the shared department inbox efficiently

What You Bring

Essential Qualifications

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset
• Ability to follow complex procedures and develop new processes when needed
• Excellent written and verbal communication in both French and English
• Proficiency with Mac OSX, Microsoft Excel, and G-Suite

Assets

• Previous experience in music publishing, copyright administration, or music industry operations
• Familiarity with royalty and catalog management software or advanced databases
• Additional language skills
