Panelist Bios

Mayra Vargas (Office Hours Host) is in the eternal quest for the intersection between music and activism. Born in Lima, Peru now residing in Los Angeles, Vargas is dedicated to uplift songwriters’ voices in the music industry through her role as Sr. Director of Creative Sync at Concord Music Publishing, pitching music for advertising and brands. She is excited to continue making efforts to have diversity, inclusion and love for music at the forefront of her journey and to keep creating ways to make songwriters and artists careers sustainable and charging to the future.

Ali Koerper is the Director of Rights Management for Disney Music Group, bringing over 25 years of experience in music rights, licensing, and music publishing operations. She helps guide DMG’s strategy for acquiring, managing, and optimizing music‑related rights and monetization solutions across copyright licensing, digital rights management, and international publishing relationships.

Ali works closely with teams across The Walt Disney Company, DMG’s international subpublishers, and digital platforms and solution providers to ensure DMG’s catalog is fully cleared, protected, and positioned for worldwide revenue growth. She leads a multi‑team organization and drives initiatives that modernize rights workflows—including in the development and implantation of global set list processes to optimize monetization of performance rights revenue in the live event space and in helping direct emerging direct‑licensing opportunities.

Charley Londoño brings a rare combination of specialized entertainment legal services and executive level music industry expertise. Primarily practicing in the areas of music, film, television, and new media, Mr. Londoño counsels both companies and individuals regarding transactional issues. His practice concentrates in the protection, clearance, licensing, and distribution of intellectual property rights.

Prior to beginning his law career, Mr. Londoño was a record company executive. Throughout his career, he worked in the radio promotion departments of Arista Records, A&M Records, IRS Records, and MCA Records.

Mr. Londoño received a B.S. in Business Administration–Finance from the University of Florida and a J.D. from California Western School of Law.

Londoño is a member of the State Bar of California, the Florida Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the California Copyright Conference, and the Association of Independent Music Publishers. He is a past president of the California Copyright Conference and instituted its annual Apollo Awards ceremonies.

Debra Delshad is a 20-year veteran of the music industry. Most recently, she spent 10 years as Senior Director of Synchronization and Music Licensing at Angry Mob Music before pivoting to pursue more fulfilling opportunities within the music community. Debra is currently consulting on music and licensing for a new music app she’s excited about and recently completed projects for Worth the Wait (film) and The Broad Museum. She continues to work with independent artists and writers on synch opportunities and publishing deals with emerging companies.

A member of the Recording Academy, Debra has also served on the board of the California Copyright Conference. Known for her ability to close deals, she has secured music placements in television, film, streaming platforms, commercials, and video games.

Throughout her career, Debra has held roles at EMI Music Publishing, Anthem Entertainment, and DreamWorks Music Publishing. Passionate about giving back, she is a frequent speaker at industry events, including the Billboard Music Conference, Nashville Film Festival, ASCAP Expo, Musexpo, BMI, Musicians Institute, Los Angeles College of Music, and Women in Music.

Debra holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and a law degree from Loyola Law School. Her work was featured in Variety for her contributions to the soundtrack of Netflix’s Bridgerton and as one of the “Female Executives of Iranian Descent Making an Impact in the Music Industry.”

From her humble beginnings as a college radio DJ, Gabi Cote made her way to Position Music in 2022 where she currently handles synchronization licenses for Film, TV, and Video Games. She began her at Dare To Care Records (now Bravo Musique), a prominent Montreal label – working with some of Quebec’s most prolific acts. In 2018, she pursued Business Management degree at UCLA and attended Harvard Law’s CopyrightX course, while working for Italo disco/synth pop cult label Italians Do It Better – where she handled both licensing and label duties. 

In 2024, Gabi was appointed Chair of the AIMP LA Young Professionals Committee (YPC),  where she’s focused on fostering connections and empowering the next generation of music publishing executives. Since starting their work, the YPC has hosted a number of networking events and launched the Pub Pals program – a space meant for young music publishers to establish relationships while navigating their careers with support.

Todd Brabec, former ASCAP Executive Vice President and Worldwide Director of Membership, is an Entertainment Law attorney and industry consultant, a Deems Taylor Award winning co-author of  “Music, Money and Success: the Insider’s Guide to Making Money in the Music Business” (8th edition/Schirmer Books/ Music Sales) as well as the “Music Publishing Law” chapter in the 2018 Juris Publications two volume treatise “ The Essential Guide to Entertainment Law”, an Adjunct Professor at USC where he teaches the course on Music Licensing, Music Publishing and Film, Television and Video Game Scoring and Song Contracts and is a former Governing Committee member as well as Music and Budget Chair of the American Bar Association Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries.

He is the recipient of the 2005 Educational Leadership Award from the Music and Entertainment Industry Educators Association (MEIEA),  the 2015 Texas Star Award from the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the State Bar of Texas for Outstanding Contribution and Achievement in the Field of Entertainment Law, the 2019 Apollo Award from the California Copyright Conference for “excellence in the music industry via his leadership, achievements and commitments to the industry”, the 2023 AIMP Person of the Year for his support of songwriters and music publishers and is a graduate of the New York University School of Law.  Brabec lectures extensively throughout the world at conferences, universities, industry organizations and law firms and has been a panelist at major conferences and seminars throughout the world.
