Antonella Di Saverio, Senior Director, Administration and Publisher Relations, works with publishers, composers and writers on royalty and administration matters.


Daniel Abowd

Daniel Abowd is the President & General Counsel of The Royalty Network, a family-owned independent music publisher founded in 1994 that now services a catalog of hundreds of thousands of musical works on behalf of songwriters from across the globe, across the 20th and 21st centuries, and across countless genres.

A lifelong musician and songwriter with degrees in music, economics, and music business from Cornell University and NYU, Abowd is also a practicing attorney and trained litigator who has litigated copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property disputes on behalf of both creators and corporations. He also serves on the Independent Publishers Advisory Council (IPAC) of the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA), and has published articles in journals such as the Harvard Negotiation Law Review and the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal dissecting contemporary issues facing songwriters and the broader music industry, including Copyright Royalty Board proceedings, songwriter dispute resolution, and evidentiary complexities in copyright infringement cases.

Prior to joining The Royalty Network, Abowd served as an associate at white-shoe law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP, following judicial clerkships in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.


Joanne Kelsey

Joanne Kelsey began her music industry journey as a Music Management graduate from William Paterson University in 2001. She started her career in mechanical licensing at the Harry Fox Agency, then moved on to EMI Music (North America) and TUTM Entertainment. In 2011, she joined Razor & Tie Music Publishing, where she served as the VP of Publishing Administration and Licensing. After Razor & Tie was acquired by Concord in 2015, she transitioned to Memory Lane Music Group, overseeing the Publishing Administration, Royalties, and Copyright Departments. Joanne eventually took on the role of managing the entire team at MLMG’s parent company, Royalty Solutions Corporation.

Currently, Joanne is the VP of Royalties and Administration at Anthem Entertainment, leading the global Client Services, Royalties, and Registrations teams. Since 2022, she has also been a board member of the AIMP (Association of Independent Music Publishers). She has organized notable events for the AIMP, such as “O Canada!” and “Music Copyright and the Age of AI: A Discussion with ICMP.” Additionally, she moderated the keynote panel discussion with the PROs at this year’s AIMP Global Summit. Joanne is passionate about advocating for Independent Music Publishers.

In her spare time, Joanne sings alto in the Monmouth Civic Chorus, where she also serves as a co-section leader, and is the Girl Scout leader of her daughter’s troop.


Lewis Stark, CPA

Mr. Stark is a forensic royalty auditor whose compliance practice focuses on protecting intellectual properties, maximizing licensing and royalty revenue, and providing his clients with value added business intelligence  and other nonmonetary benefits. His experience includes performing various types of forensic, royalty and  contract compliance audits to identify, quantify and recover amount due his clients. Mr. Stark has also  conducted hundreds of financial due diligence reviews in connection with music catalog acquisitions,  financing, and securitizations. He provides litigation consulting and expert witness testimony primarily with  respect to royalty and profit participation disputes and contractual breaches. Mr. Stark and his colleagues provide other services, including IP valuation, royalty administration and accounting services, and royalty  audit defense. 

Mr. Stark enjoys consulting with clients to help them improve the financial and audit provisions within their  contracts, identify untapped opportunities and enhance relationships. His approach is holistic, as compliance  auditing is more than just tracing numbers. He considers the big picture, business relationships, IP protection,  contractual intent, equity positions, business conditions, risks and opportunities, and more, in order to provide  additional value to clients.  

Mr. Stark has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for clients, which range from individuals to Fortune  500 companies. The industries in which Mr. Stark operates include Sports and Entertainment (Music, Film,  TV, Broadway, Professional Leagues and Teams); Life Sciences (Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Medical  Devices); Technology and Software; Apparel, Footwear and Accessories, Food, Beverage and Restaurants; Toys, Games and Video Games; Print and Digital Media; Automotive and more. 

In addition to obtaining monetary recoveries for clients, Mr. Stark provides a variety of nonmonetary benefits  and added value including protecting clients’ intellectual properties, providing essential business intelligence  regarding the activities of clients’ licensees and partners, resolving contractual disputes, communicating how  agreements and regulations should be interpreted to the client’s licensees and partners, and correcting improper licensee behavior prospectively.
